What is LVP flooring?
LVP, or Luxury Vinyl Plank, is a durable, affordable, and beautiful alternative to hardwood flooring.
It’s well-suited for a variety of residential and commercial applications, and, when installed correctly, perfectly mimics the look, texture, and warmth of real wood. The biggest benefit of LVP flooring is that it is 100% waterproof. It is also more durable than other flooring options. With it being durable it is also easy to maintain; regular sweeping and mopping is all you need to keep your floors looking like new. With advances in vinyl plank flooring, you can find vinyl floors with rigid core construction, making them more dimensionally stable and sturdy. In today’s market, you have many options when it comes to vinyl flooring.
You can find vinyl plank flooring with attached underlayment, thicknesses up to 8mm or more and hand scraped textures. Making it easier on your feet as well, engineered vinyl planks are much more comfortable to walk on.
Luxury Vinyl Plank can be installed on top of virtually any surface (as long as it’s flat). Engineered luxury vinyl can go on top of concrete, plywood and tile. Vinyl flooring can be installed on nearly any subfloor, with the thicker floors being more forgiving to imperfect subfloors. It can even go on top of radiant heat.
There are many great options for dark & gray colours, as well as farmhouse or distressed looks. It’s often more challenging to find these colors & styles in hardwood and tile. At Gateway we’ve added an extra twist to our LVP and laid it down in a custom chevron pattern that makes for a unique and sophisticated modern look.
